what is it a man should do
the day before his dream comes true
spend time with friends and make a toast
and make love to whom he loves most
and dance and laugh in just his skin
then cry while nude then dance again
then pray the clock will strike and hold
so that tomorrow’s cast in gold
to never tarnish and always earn
but like this day each day must turn
so maybe what a man should do
after the drinks and romps are through
is pat his back then call his ma
then thank the Lord for grace and awe
then sit and set a quiet place
to think of other dreams to chase
