I went to see him speak, and in the midst of his talk he described how he felt when he read another writer’s (I forget who) work. The way he said the work made him feel I will carry throughout the rest of my career…and life.

Mr. Laymon explained, with the utmost conviction, that when he finished reading this person’s work, he felt cared for.

CARED FOR.

From now on, this is my mantra. My sincere intention. Whenever you read anything that I’ve written, it is prayer that you — each and every one of you — feel cared for.
