Yesterday my father told me
…that when my grandfather went completely blind in 1982, that he offered him one of his eyes, but unfortunately once the doctors tested my dad, he wasn’t a good match.
Then he said that when my brother was stabbed in the eye at seventeen, my father offered to give him one of his eyes as well. Unfortunately, that time there was too much damage for a proper implant.
His theory is, he could live just fine seeing half the world if he could give the whole world to the people he loves.
Sacrifice is an honor.
